Sarah’s Superhero Story

Please meet Sarah

Sarah is a beautiful happy 14-year-old girl living in the Hunter Region in New South Wales, Australia. She has an infectious laugh and a smile that will light up any room.

Sarah received her initial diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy at 21 months. In 2019 at the age of 8 years old after further testing and having blood work taken and sent to Finland, Sarah was accurately diagnosed with KIF1A Associated Neurological Disorder- KAND along with another rare neurological disorder called GRIN2B that affects the nervous system.

Sarah was non-verbal until she started preschool. Now she does not stop talking!

Sarah loves her IPAD and loves music.

Sarah has a bright and happy nature that draws people to her. She is also sassy.

Sarah has a younger brother called Josh that she absolutely loves to bits. Not to mention the love she has for her wonderful mum and dad that love her more than anything in this world.

Sarah loves Frozen and as part of a “Make A Wish event” Sarah was able to attend her very own coronation with Anna and Elsa, Anna being Sarah’s favourite of course.

Sarah struggles with CVI- Cortical Visual Impairment and although she is 14, she is intellectually 4 Years old. Sarah is a GMCSIV user and loves her wheels as it gives her independence. Sarah has ADHD and ASD2.
